Pridlides, Contract Specialist, (305)324-4455 EXT.6464 Bids are solicited to provide for the removal of hazardous waste materials from the VAMC, Miami, Fl. Contractor must provide technical consultation, removal and related services in accordance with Federal Standards as requested on a quarterly basis. Contractor must provide all supervision, supplies, labor, materials, and services to arrange and perform the categorization, packaging, labeling, manifesting, documenting, transport, and final disposition of hazardous waste materials. Contractor shall provide all appropriate collection containers and lids to accommodate the waste generated by the Medical Center in compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. All bidders on this contract must provide certification that they will be the carrier responsible for the removal and transport of the hazardous waste materials. It is a requirement that the Contractor have, and keep current, at the time of service, all permits, licensing and approvals to transport, service and dispose of hazardous waste which are required, in accordance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. A copy of these documents must be submitted with the bid package. Waste shall be disposed of in an environmentally sound method, utilizing any and all recycling outlets available at the time of disposal. All wastes shall be clearly described, coded, packaged, marked and labeled by the Contractor in accordance with all applicable DOT, EPA, and RCRA regulations or other applicable laws and regulations as appropriate for the waste. Contractor shall dispose of all hazardous waste materials generated at, the VAMC, Miami, Florida, EXCLUDING RADIOACTIVE WASTE. Upon the completion of disposal, the Contractor shall submit to the VAMC, Miami, proper certification stating the quantity, location, and methods utilized in the disposal process. All waste material (i.e. waste and waste containers) shall be removed from the VAMC property within (24) twenty-four hours after packaging. Waste pick-ups shall be scheduled for the last week of each quarter (December, March, June, September). Service hours shall be Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M.- 4:30 P.M. (EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS). The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement is 4953. The period covered by this contract shall be October 1, 1996 through September 30, 1997, with two options to renew for a period of one year each. Issue date will be on or about June 14, 1996. Bid opening date will be on or about July 15, 1996. Requests for a bid package must be submitted in writing to the Contract Specialist listed in this announcement. TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. The award of a contract for fiscal year 1997, 1998 and 1999 is subject to the availability of funds. (0157)
