''PICOINDENTER MICROMECHANICAL TEST INSTRUMENT'' OPTION: SPARE 90

MICROMECHANICAL TEST INSTRUMENT'' OPTION: INTERFACE TO PARK SCIENTIFIC
AUTOPROBE-LS ATOMIC FORCE MICROSCOPE (1 EACH). The desired
''micromechanical test instrument'' is to be used as an attachment
within an existing ''Autoprobe LS'' Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM) by
Park Scientific Instruments, Inc. and should be an ''off the shelf''
item, in that no new instrument development effort should be required
to produce this attachment. This ''micromechanical test instrument''
shall include all electronics and hardware to: - easily mount within
our Autoprobe LS to allow SPM imaging using a pyramidal diamond
indenter tip; - apply forces and collect measurements to produce load
versus displacement curves using diamond indenter tip in situ; - have
the capability of sensing lateral forces on tip; - have a 10
milli-Newton full scale load or greater with load sensitivity of 100
nano-Newton or smaller; - have 100 micrometer displacement range or
greater, with 0.2 nanometer resolution or smaller. Delivery to
Cleveland, Ohio 44135. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-32. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3829. The
Small Business Size Standard is 500. The following provisions apply to
this acquisition: 52.212-1 - Instructions to Offerors - Commercial;
52.212-4 - Contract Terms and Conditions. Offerors must include a
completed copy of the provision 52.212-3 - Offeror Representation and
Certifications - Commercial Items with their offer. All documents
related to this procurement will be available via the NASA Internet
Acquisition Service (NAIS). The documents will reside on a world Wide
Web server, whIch may be accessed using client browsers, such as MOSAIC
