Style Laboratory Furnace, The furnace shall have temperature
capability up to 1700 degree Celsius in air. The inside chamber
dimensions shall be at least 24'' high, 24'' wide and 24'' deep. The
furnace shall be a bottom loading configuration with a counterweight or
air lift system to raise the furnace from the crucible support
platform. This design will enable the sample to remain stationary to
prevent disturbance to the sample during heat treatment. The furnace
shall have molydisilicide heating elements distributed evenly to allow
temperature uniformity. The furnace exterior shall be of material that
resists against burning and warping. The furnace shall have an exhaust
port with a diameter of at least 1.5''. The furnace shall be
controlled by a microprocessor based autotuning temperature controller
with storage for four programs with at least 16 segments per program
consisting of at least eight dwells and eight holds. The controller
shall be programmable without powering the furnace. The controller
shall have digital displays for viewing of setpoint and measured value.
The temperature displays shall include both celsius and fahrenheit. The
controller shall feature overtemperature protection. The controller
shall feature programming for furnace door operation. The furnace shall
be an ''off-the-shelf'', proven system. The entire furnace system,
including furnace, controller and transformer shall be contained in a
footprint no larger than 106'' by 95''. Recommended Model: DELTECH
#DT-31-TH-242424-C or equivalent. This procurement is a 100 percent
small business set-aside. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for
commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-32. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3821. The
Small Business Standard is 500. The following provisions apply to this
acquisition: 52.212-1 - Instructions to Offerors - Commercial; 52.212-4
- Contract TErms and Conditions. Offerors must include a completed copy
of the provision 52.212-3 - Offeror Representations and Certifications
- Commercial Items with their offer. All documents related to this
procurement will be available via the NASA Internet Acquisition Service
(NAIS). The documents will reside on a World Wide Web server, which may
be accessed using client browsers, such as MOSAIC or Netscape. The WWW
