TAYLOR (202) 782-1285 Contracting Officer Al Bariatti (202) 782-1280 (Site Code DADA15) Walter Reed Army Medical Center intends to enter into sole source negotiations with PerSeptive Biosystems, Framingham, Massachusetts, for a Voyager-DE Biospectrometry Workstation for the Analytical Chemistry Branch of the Department of Clinical Investigation, Walter Reed Army Medical Center. This sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 6. The biospectrometry workstation will be used to accurately determine the purity and structure of biomolecules, including peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides and glycoconjugates. The system must provide mass accuracy of 0.1% with external calibration and 0.015% with internal calibration using six consecutive acquisitions of ACTH 18-39 and ACTH 7- 38. The system must also offer high throughput of 100 samples or more (including models with and without 2 ul sample wells) which can be loaded at one time for both manual and automated high-volume analysis. Justification for other than full and open competition is based on 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), whereby supplies or services required are available from only one source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
