Z -- RE-ROOF BUILDING 64 AT ALCATRAZ ISLAND SOL 1443IB8140-96-042 DUE 072996 POC Contact Point, Linda Wong, (415)556-2488 The National Park Service (NPS), Golden Gate National Recreation Area, has identified a requirement to re-roof Building 64 at Alcatraz Island, San Francisco, CA. The work shall include but not limited to removal of existing roof, removal of remaining gutters, removal of roof penetrations except fireplaces, removal of asbestos containing roofing material, removal and disposal of a fallen concrete chimney; removal, containment and disposal of lead containing paint under the eaves, replacement of corrugated aluminum roof, new copper gutters & downspouts, new roof hatch and repainting eaves. Pull-out test on fasteners in existing purlins is required as part of the roof installation process. Contractor is prohibited from landing his own boats/vessels at Alcatraz Island. Daily transportation to and from the site for work crews shall be arranged by the contractor with NPS Concessionaire, Red & White Fleet. All arrangements for water transportation for personnel, materials, equipment, debris and recycled materials shall be made through the NPS Concessionaire or Westar Marine Services. The National Park Service, Golden Gate NRA, welcomes and encourages small, small disadvantaged, and women-owned business concerns to participate.
