273-5210 The following A/E design project number 648-96-133,
''Emergency Power Substation'' at the Portland VA Medical Center, is
set aside for small emerging business concerns only. An emerging small
business is one whose average annual receipts for the past 3 years did
not exceed 2.5 million dollars. SIC 8712. Scope of work is as follows:
Provide Electrical Engineering design service including Load Studies,
investigation survey, preliminary & subsequent detailed cost
estimates, design development, contract documents and construction
period service for the connection of two existing 500 kW emergency
generator sets to life safety circuits and the
reconfiguration/reconnection of three existing 650 kW generator sets to
normal power standby capability. Final design will enable use of all
five generators to power all essential Medical Center loads.
Coordination with our related project is required (Generator Exhaust
and New Energy Management System). Estimated construction cost is in
the $100,000 - $250,000 range. Selection and award is subject to the
availability of FY96 funding. Firms within the Portland,
Oregon/Vancouver, Washington area desiring consideration should submit
current Sf-254 and SF-255 before COB July 11, 1996. See Note 24.
