COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 11,1996 PSA#1613International Joint Commission, United States Section, 1250 23rd
Streeet, N.W., Suite 100, Washington, DC 20440 D -- DATA PROCESSING AND COMPUTER SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT SOL 17619601 DUE
071196 POC Frank Bevacqua or Joel Fisher, phone 202-736-9000, fax
202-736-9015. Management of local area network for International Joint
Commission's Washington, DC office. This LAN is one of the
Commission's three systems, the other two being in Ottawa and Windsor,
Ontario, Canada. Although only the Washington system is the subject of
this solicitation, the upgrading, management, and future development of
the LAN in Washington depends on joint planning strategies and
activities involving the other two LAN systems. The tasks required for
the management of the Washington LAN include standard management
activities involving electronic mail and communications,
troubleshooting of equipment and problems with word processing and
other software systems, virus checks, periodic system configuration
changes and equipment upgrads, and limited training of Commission staff
in the use and performance of new software and equipment
configurations. The Commission intends to negotiate a fixed price
contract for a two year period beginning approximately September 27,
1996. An option for a third year will also be included in the
solicitation. Consistent with the present operations of the
Commission's management of its LAN systems, the solicitation is a small
business set-aside, SIC code 7379 (gross receipts limitation of $18
million per year averaged over the three most recent years of receipts
availability). See numbered Note 1. The Commission has scheduled an
open house at its facilities at 1250 23rd Street, N.W., Suite 100,
Washington, DC on June 21, 1996 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Interested
parties should indicate their intentions regarding attendance at this
time. The meeting which precedes a tour of the facility will introduce
the Commission and its operations briefly and will take questions on
the RFP for later response. It is not likely that persons who can
answer technical questions will be present at the time of the tour, and
therefore all questions will be answered to the extent possible in
writing to all attendees within several days of the tour. (0159) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0021 19960610\D-0001.SOL)
