J -- B-1B PROGRAMMED DEPOT MAINTENANCE POC For copy, OC-ALC/PKXDA TINKER AFB OK 73145-3015, For additional information contact Homer Mcavoy/Ladda/(405)739-4488 This is a sources sought synopsis. The Air Force intends to contract for the Program Depot Maintenance (PDM) of 10 B-1B Aircraft. The contract will be for one year with an option for one additional year. Five B-1B aircraft would be accomplished in FY97 and five B-1B aircraft during FY 98 if the option period is exercised. The contract, including the option year, would cover the period from 01 Oct 96 to 30 Sep 98. There are no plans to contract for B-1B PDM past 01 Oct 98 as PDM for the entire fleet would at that time be accomplished by the Air Force. Assumption by the Air Force of complete organic PDM capabilities for the B-1B is being delayed due to the uncertainties of workload currently being accomplished by Depots scheduled for closing. In addition to the PDM of 10 aircraft the resulting contract shall include, but is not limited to, main landing gear change out, horizontal stabilizer change out, full strip and paint, analytical condition inspection and time compliance technical orders (TCTOs). The following constraints apply to this acquisition: Hanger size must allow for the simultaneous docking of at least two scheduled aircraft and one drop-in aircraft. The B-1B aircraft is 147 feet in length and has a maximum height of 34 feet. The wingspan is 137 feet with the wings forward and 78 feet with the wings fully swept. Minimum runway requirements are 10,000 feet in length with a 1000 foot overrun and overall width of 150 feet. Facility must have ILS landing capability and TACAN available.
