Correction: This action, originally publicized in the CBD dated 1/2/96 as a competitive 8(a) best value procurement, is changed to a competitive small business set-aside. Processing the requirement as a competitive small business set-aside will provide small and small disadvantaged businesses ''attainable and reasonable opportunity'' to participate in the procurement as set forth in the AMS policy 3.6.1.2. This notice is to advise that a Screening Information Request (SIR), containing general information about our requirement is available to any small business whose written request is received prior to the time and date specified below. The SIR will contain evaluation criteria that will be used for the purpose of downselecting to not-to-exceed ten (10) companies determined to be the most qualified and, therefore, most likely to receive contract award. This number was determined based on the limited number of FAA technical personnel available to perform the technical evaluation in accordance with the evaluation criteria specified in the SIR and due to the short time-frame available to complete the acquisition process as the current contract expires December 31, 1996. A SIR Request for Offer will then be mailed to those companies who have been determined ''most qualified.''
