203-444-8299 This project consists of removing existing metal windows
in a museum display area and filling the opening with masonry units.
Also, a limited number of existing metal windows in office areas will
be replaced with new energy efficient windows. The work will be
performed at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. There is no
know hazardous material in this project. This acquisition is 100%
set-aside for small business; SIC code is 1799; Size Standard is $7
million. There will only be one site visit (which will be identified in
the solicitation package) and contractors are strongly encouraged to
attend. The resulting contract from this acquisition will be awarded to
that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation, will
be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and
price-related factors. The price is estimated is between $25,000 and
$100,000. It is intended to award a Firm Fixed-Price contract. Requests
must be made in writing to Superintendent (fp), U.S. Coast Guard
Academy, 15 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT 06320-4195 and must specify
the solicitation number. ALL REQUESTS SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A $15.00
NON-REFUNDABLE CHACK PAYABLE TO THE U.S. COAST GUARD. No telephone

Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantage Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
Transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
