Houghton, Contract Specialist, 309-681-6616 The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has the requirement for Replacing the Fire Alarm and Detection System at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research (NCAUR), Peoria IL. The work includes, but is not limited to a base bid item and three option items: Base Bid Item: Addressable Fire Alarm and Detection Network System for laboratory wing of the NCAUR. The system shall include visual and audible (including voice) alarms, heat and smoke detection, color graphic annunciation, fan control, and interconnection to existing fire suppression systems and portions of the existing fire alarm and detection system to remain active. The Base Bid is to cover five (5) floors of approximately 18,000 sq. ft. each. The system shall comply with NFPA and Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards. Performance period for Base Bid Item shall be 105 calendar days. Option Item 0001 (North Admin. Area) includes: Add alarm and detection to five (5) floors of maintenance and office area (approx. 13,500 sq. ft. each floor) to the Base Bid system including elevator recall control. Performance period for Option Item 0001 is 42 calendar days. Option Item 0002 (North Lab Area) includes: Add alarm and detection to four (4) floors of laboratory area (approx. 3,200 sq. ft. each floor) to the Base Bid system. Performance period for Option Item 0002 is 14 calendar days. Option Item 0003 (South Admin. Area) includes: Add alarm and detection to five (5) floors of office area (approx. 10,000 sq. ft. each floor) to the Base Bid system including elevator recall control. Magnitude of Construction for the entire project (including options) is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000.
