The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to renovate/repair three (3) animal holding-room wings at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in Plum Island, New York. Work includes plumbing, electrical, painting, air lock door replacement, roofing, etc. (This is a presolicitation notice.) Contractors are advised that this facility is a quarrantine research laboratory located on an island 1-1/2 miles off the northern-most tip (Orient Point) of Long Island, New York. Transportation incidental to performance of this project may be provided by Government-furnished boats. The estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $750,000. This project must be completed within 180 days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation No. IFB 12-3615-96 will be available on or about July 15, 1996.
