Wright-Patterson AFB OH has a requirement for a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser pumped Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) system. The Nd:YAG laser must have a variable repetition rate from o to 30 Hz, pulse widths on the order of 4ns and at least 200 mj of energy per pulse when the radiation is tripled to 355 nm. The output beam must have very good pulse to pulse stability, very good pointing stability, and very uniform irradiance spatial profile. The OPO must convert this pump radiation to any wavelength of choice from 410 nm to 1500 nm with at least 10 mJ of energy per pulse at any wavelength in either the signal or idler. The energy stability, pointing stability, pulse width stability, and beam uniformity must be comparable to that of the Nd:YAG laser. Sources were sought on about April 23, 1996. All sources that responded will be sent a copy of the solicitation. This solicitation will be issued approx 96 Jun 28. The solicitation will close on 18 Jul 96.
