The CTS, which is used as a ground, fixed equipment, provides a frequency modulated, high power RF signal in the frequency range of 400 to 450 MHz to support target control and range safety/flight termination programs. The CTS consists of pairs of identical High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), power supplies, exciters, and encoders along with a switch-over unit which serves to switch the RF output from either the primary or back-up portion of the CTS. The switch-over unit also provides the interface for remote control circuitry. The contract that results from this synopsis will be a firm fixed price contract.
