59 -- HIGH BAND RADOME POC Contact Code 8024, Steve McAtee, Bldg 41N, 812-854-6516 The Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center is seeking prospective sources for manufacture or modification of High Band Radomes. Radome is a composite sandwich structure that serves as an aerodynamically shaped, RF energy-transparent cover for the AN/ALQ-99 pod antennas operated on the Navy EA-6B Prowler. Approximate size: 173 inches long, 26 inches wide, 18 inches high. Predominate materials of manufacture are resin preimpregnated cloth fabrics bonded over honeycomb core. Government is currently conducting tests to determine if existing radome will be modified or manufacture of new radome is required. Estimated quantity is 60 to 200 units. Procurement method will require submission of technical proposal to allow Government evaluation of both technical approach and cost. Award will be based on ''Best Value'' considering technical risk and cost. Contract award will be fixed price. Input from vendors regarding commercial practices for procuring similar items is desired. Advise if commercial or nondevelopment item is available, or could be modified to meet agency requirements.
