H -- AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SERVICES SOL RSXXXX-005X-9502 POC Contract Specialist Julie Silva (520) 328-6152 (Site Code DAAD01) The U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground has a requirement to extend existing Contract No. DAAD01-90-C-0071 for Aircraft Maintenance Services for two months from 01 August 96 through 30 September 96 to cover services while a follow-on contract is being solicited and awarded. It is the Government's intent to issue a modification to the current contract for this purpose. It is not feasible to obtain competition for this acquisition since Pride Management & Services is the current contractor and a new contractor would require at least a 30 day phase-in period, start-up costs, individual employee security clearances, a facility clearance, transfer of Government property and the many other factors involved in starting an effort of this magnitude. No solicitation will be issued. The follow-on requirement was synopsized in the Commerce Business Daily on 06 February 1996 and amended in the CBD dated 13 February 1996. See Note 22.(0163)
