The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for operation and maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Plant at the Washington, D. C. Facility. The BEP requires the treatment of (1) Dalmar wastewater (a caustic solution of sodium hydroxide containing castor oil, intaglio inks and some hydraulic oils from leaks and varsol from cleaning of the presses) and (2) Plating wastewater (containing hexavalent chromic acid, copper sulfate and nickel sulfamate in an aqueous solution). Performance will begin on approximately April 1, 1997. There will be one (1) base year and 4 one year option periods. The Plant operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week including holidays.
