On or about Friday, June 14, 1996 the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300 will issue Solicitation No. 082530-96-A-0104 to construct a partially enclosed storage platform of approximately 20,000 square feet with a loading dock area at the Central Mass Processing and Distribution Center located at 192 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Sealed offers are due no later than Friday, July 19, 1996 4:00 pm EST. Work shall be started within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost of the work is between $650,000.00 and $850,000.00. Contract completion time is two hundred seventy (270) calendar days after award. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. There will be a preproposal meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 1996 beginning at 2:30 pm in Conference Room 539B of the Central Mass Processing and Distribution Center, 192 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA to discuss the specifics of this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all materials, labor and equipment required to construct a partially enclosed storage platform of approximately 20,000 square feet with a loading dock area. The work consists of the installation of a 20,000 square foot concrete slab with structural canopy of 50' x 50' bays. The work also includes masonry, steel work, concrete, site work, paving, roofing, electrical, and plumbing work. A proposal guarantee is not required. Performance and payment bonds on Postal Service forms will be required from the successful offeror. Proposal documents and specifications (including specifics relative to basis for contract award) may be purchased for $35.00 per set from the Support Service Team, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300.
