Potential sources are sought for a weapon flashlight for the M16A2 Rifle and M4 Carbine. The flashlight shall be attachable to/detachable from a standard M16A2 Rifle and/or to a M4 Carbine and to a weapon equipped with MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails. The mounting hardware may be integral or removable. The flashlight with mounting hardware installed shall be attachable to/detachable from the weapons without the use of tools and should have the following capabilities: rugged, lightweight, water resistant, remote on/off switch, rechargeable batteries, compatibility with standard batteries, constant and intermittent capability, removeable infrared filter, and removable red filter attachment. A wide angle background beam and a tightly focused central beam are desirable. This item must meet the Department of the Army guidelines for a Non-Developmental Item (NDI).
