Contact, Judy Simpson, Phone (703)604-6100 The Government intends to
negotiate with Grumman Aerospace Corporation, South Oyster Bay Road,
Bethpage, NY 11714, for the kits, installation, and testing of the
Mission Computer Upgrade (MCU) for OPEVAL for the E-2C aircraft. The
contract will acquire MCU long lead items, remaining MCU items,
Navigation Upgrade kits, Satellite Communications (SATCOM) kits,
partial provisions for the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC),
partial provisions for Vapor Cycle, installation and testing of all of
these, and technical and financial data. In addition, options will be
included for Standard Depot Level Maintenance (SDLM), wing center
modifications, interim supply support, spares, technical OPEVAL
support, and training. The Government does not own the Level III
drawings for each resident subsystem within the aircraft in order to
allow for full and open competition for this procurement. As the
designer and sole manufacturer of the E-2C aircraft, Grumman is the
only firm with the tooling, requisite skills, knowledge of each
resident subsystem, and documentation capable of completing the
integration of this complex system into existing E-2C aircraft within
the required timeframe. This synopsis is for informational purposes
