The United States Department of Agriculture intends to add to its existing contract, 53-3142-3-1028, with Computer Associates the following software license and technical support: CLIN 62, ACF2/DB2 Option. Rate of use determined by MIPS. Alternative sources responding to this announcement may be considered non- responsive if they offer products not priced by MIPS or offer terms otherwise limiting USDA's use of software to process its own data and other Agencies' data. The software will be installed on IBM-compatible, large scale, mainframe CPUs. USDA has the right to allow any authorized end-user to access and use applications designed, developed, maintained and operated using the software, operate and/or test and contingency cold- and hot-site facilities and use the products to run benchmarks on other computers. Interested parties may provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be evaluated, respondents must submit clear and convincing documentation. Documentation must include descriptive literature with sufficient technical information to substantiate the respondent's ability to meet USDA'S needs and pricing. This is not a request for offers or proposals. No solicitation document exists. Requests for an IFB or RFP will not receive an acknowledgment. All responses to this notice must be received within fifteen days from the date of publication of this notice.
