COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 14,1996 PSA#1616TUTORIAL ON DIRECTABLE INFRARED COUNTERMEASURES (IRCM) FLARES The US
Army Communications Electronics Command, CECOM, in conjunction with the
Garden State Chapter of the Association of Old Crows, will present a
Tutorial on Directable Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM)/Flares at Ft.
Monmouth 9-11 July 1996. The tutorial is designed to provide a basic
understanding of Infrared Countermeasures for personnel that are new to
the field. The instructors have been carefully chosen based on their
experience in the field of IRCM as well as the ability to present the
material to the target audience. The course is structured to provide a
qualitative understanding of the principles and hardware that are
employed in today's IRCM environment without heavy reliance on detailed
engineering analyses. It is recommended for personnel that have been
assigned to programs that deal with IRCM or to just develop a very good
understanding of the real problems of detecting and countering today's
IR missiles. Attendance is limited to US Citizens only with a ``Need
to Know'' certification from either their supervisor (Government
personnel) or their contract representative (Industry personnel). There
is a nominal fee to cover food service and security/custodial expenses.
