This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number F04700-96-T-6095 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ), and will be awarded as a contract using the simplified acquisition procedure. Small Business Size Standard: 500 employees. The RFQ is for a research grade Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (Michelson Interferometer) for time-resolved kinetic applications. REQUIREMENTS: RESOLUTION: 0.1 cm - 1 or better MINIMUM RANGE: 600 to 3500 cm - 1 MOVING MIRROR: air bearing supported RAPID SCAN: 80 scans/sec at 8 cm - 1 resolution (or equivalent) STEP SCAN TIME RESOLVED MODE: complete computer hardware and software to acquire, store, and manipulate/present data. Electronics including digitizers, amplifiers, analog to digital converters (specify number of bits) and suitable IR detector to achieve a temporal resolution of 200 nanoseconds minimum. Indicate number of interferogram points required to cover minimum wavelength range at required resolution and indicate total required time per step. CONFIGURATION: Indicate features which allow for reconfiguration to support at least one external laser beam and one (or two simultaneously positioned) oversized external sample chambers. OPTICS: Specify diameter and coatings. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT: Specify all required/recommended user supplied facilities and hardware to achieve operating specifications.
