The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Service (FCS) seeks qualified offerors to model the effects of Food Stamp Program (FSP) participation on dietary intake in order to provide a baseline understanding of the relationships among dietary knowledge and attitudes, FSP participation, and dietary adequacy. The contract will involve the analysis of data from USDA's continuing Survey of Food Intake by Individuals (CSFII) and Diet and Health Knowledge Survey (DHKS); development of analytical methodologies for relating FSP participation, dietary knowledge, attitudes and behavior; estimation of models and interpretation of the relevance of the research for current FSP program effectiveness, and for nutrition promotion among low-income households. A documented analysis file, descriptive report, analytical report, and executive summary report with policy-relevant findings will be produced. The estimated period of performance is 14 months. Offers will be due on or about August 1, 1996.
