20590 D -- EXTEND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE - NATIONAL TRANSIT DATABASE (NTD),
VALIDATION, ADMINISTRATION, MAINTENANCE, REPORTING, AND TRAINING POC

Transit Administration (FTA) intends to negotiate a non-competitive
contract modification to extend the period of performance of Contract
No. DTUM60-93-C-41018 with Digicon Corporation for a 5 month period,
July 30, 1996, to December 31, 1996. The National Transit Database
(NTD) is required by section 5335 of the Federal Transit Laws (49 USC
5301 et seq.), and this extension will provide for continuity of
services in support of this program until a follow-on contract can be
awarded. This service includes data collection, validation,
administration, maintenance, reporting, and training. Potential sources
must be able to immediately, upon contract expiration (July 29, 1996),
and without the benefit of a transition period, be able to perform all
required functions for the 5 month period. It is critical that
potential sources have the ability to provide the necessary personnel,
expertise, equipment, materials, and facilities necessary to perform
all services required to support he NTD. The potential source must also
have recent experience in the area of sit operations, information
systems, operations, publications, training, an database management.
Potential sources must show that they posess the necessary expertise to
assume NTD related functions during a time when the work is at is's
most intensive point. Interested sources are invited to identify both
their interest and capability in writing, by submitting a qualification
statement . Mere indication of interest is not sufficient. A response
must also demonstrate that all of the above stated requirements can be
met. Written responses to this announcement should be sent to Chip

a request for proposal nor does the Government intend to pay for
information solicited. Interested parties must provide the information
