J -- AUTOMATED MAIL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE SOL SSA-RFP-97-2688 DUE 082796 POC Patricia Bullock Tel: (410) 965-9528 The Contractor shall provide the necessary supervision, labor and materials for the maintenance, testing and repair of the Automated Mail Distribution System located at the Social Security Administration, 1 Jamaica Center Plaza in Jamaica, N.Y. This system is comprised of two metal vertical tracks located in the building core, which reach from Lower Level 2 to the 11th floor. They are connected by a horizontal track in the ceiling of Lower Level 1, and there are two discharge stations on each floor. Mail is moved along the tracks throughout the building by means of a magnetic system, which reads the cars' destination and routes them accordingly. There are also two control/monitoring stations. The period of performance shall be for one year with four 1-year options. Requests for solicitation SSA-RFP-97-2688 must be in writing and received within 15 days after date of this publication.
