This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercialitems prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented withadditional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation;a proposal is being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitationnumber N00244-96-R-5175 applies and is issued as a Request for Proposal. This combinationsynopsis/solicitation incorporates the provisions and in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular90-37 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-10. The standard industrial code is 5047 and thebusiness size standard is 100 employees. This requirement is for a fixed price contract to upgradethe existing Varian Ximatron C Series Simulator to a CT Ximatron Simulator with a highfrequency generator. The upgrade will consist of the following components: Item 0001: Qty 1Ea: High Frequency Generator Upgrade. Item 0002: Qty 1 Ea: CT Option Including X-RayTube, Extended Heat Capacity. Item 0003: Qty 1 Ea: CT Option Image Intensifier 12''. Item0004: Qty 1 Ea: CT Option Isocenter Raise Upgrade. Item 0005: Qty 1 Ea: CT Option OpticalWORM Drive - 650 MB includes SCSI Host Adapter. Item 0006: Qty 1 Ea: CT Option FrameGrabber Board and Software. Delivery of all items is required FOB Destination, 90 days afteraward of contract to be delivered to Naval Medical Center, Receiving Loading Dock #4, SanDiego, CA 92134-5000. POC: HMC Stroud (619) 532-8669, Radiology Department. Inspection and Acceptance shall be made at destination. The provision at FAR 52.212-1,Instructions to Offerors-Commercial items applies.
