M -- OPERATION & MAINTENANCE (O&M) OF THE GROUND WATER MONITORING & WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM AT THE SOUTHERN MD WOOD TREATING SITE (SMWT), HOLLYWOOD, MD POC Glen L. Hershey, 410-962-0174 The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source (St. Mary's County Metropolitan Commission) under authority of FAR 6.302-1. A Firm Fixed Price type contract effective for 12 months is anticipated. The work is to be performed at the Southern Maryland Wood Treatment Site, Hollywood, MD. The Contractor shall be fully mobilized to begin O & M by 1 Aug 96. The Contractor will be required to furnish all labor necessary for the O & M of the Ground Water Monitoring and Treatment System which treats surface water pumped from an on site pond and ground water pumped from the interceptor trench. The system was designed and installed as part of a previous removal action at the site. Interested persons are required to provide their capabilities and qualifications to respond to the requirement. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all letters of interest from responsible sources will be reviewed for consideration. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
