Presolicitation Notice: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking bidders for the Bldg. 406 & 413 Barrier Removal project. Work consists of the removal of handicap barriers in Bldg. 406 and removal of exterior barriers located at the egress pts. of Bldgs. 406 & 413. Work efforts will be performed at the FEMA, Mt. Weather Emergency Assistance Center (MWEAC), Bluemont, VA, Loudoun County. The solicitation will consist of a base bid and two option items. Base bid works consists of the architectural barrier removal of Bldg. 406 which includes demolition work and construction work (i.e., caulking, installing metal doors/frames, hardware, wood framing, aluminum handicap railing, & painting.) Option 1 work consists of Bldg. 406 civil site entrance modifications, to include demolition and construction work (i.e., installation of new concrete wall, handicap ramps, landings, steps, etc.). Option 2 work consists of Bldg. 413 civil site entrance modifications and entails similar work as identified for Option 1. Valid Virginia Contractors license required in order to bid/perform work. The magnitude of construction is between $100K and $250K. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed-price construction type and the award of the base bid and options is subject to the availability of FY funds. The period of performance will be 300 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Estimated solicitation release date is 06/19/96 w/closing date 30 calendar days thereafter.
