This bid solicitation is for a firm fixed price demolition/construction contract. The scope of work for the project requires the contractor to provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary for removal/demolition and disposal of the Powerhouse smokestack. The Contractor will also provide all labor, material, and equipment to asphalt pave approximately 5,000 square feet of area. Repaving of existing parking area includes: Clean and sweep existing pavement, apply a tack material for adhesion to new pavement, apply a minimum 2'' average compacted thickness wearing #1 course asphalt (surface mix). Smokestack removal area: Apply a minimum of 4'' of gravel class #1 crusher run (1 1/2''), compact and fine grade for paving ready, apply a minimum of 2'' average compacted thickness wearing #1 course asphalt (surface mix), area to meet same elevation as re-pavement. This contract action is reserved exclusively for small business concerns and will be awarded from solicitation 170-1738. Solicitation packets will be available approximately July 1, 1996. There will be a pre-bid meeting held on July 17, 1996 at 10:00 am (Local Time), at the Federal Prison Camp, Alderson, West Virginia. The bid-opening will be held on July 31, 1996, at 1:00 pm (local time). The Anticipated award date will be approximately August 12, 1996.
