66 -- HIGH PRESSURE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEM. SOL DADA15-96-R-0047 DUE 080196 POC Contracting Officer A. BARIATTI (202) 782-1280 (Site Code DADA15) The Walter Reed Army Medical Center intends to procure by negotiation a High Pressure Liquid Chromatography System (HPLC) to be used by the Department of Clinical Investigation. The system will be used to provide investigators at WRAMC with the amino acid sequence of proteins and peptides. The required HPLC system must interface with, and provide full function compatibility with a Government-owned protein sequencer, Mdl. 494, manufactured by Perkin Elmer. The addition of this HPLC system to our existing P-E system will permit an increase to the current sensitivity of the system from 10 picomole to 2 picomole. As a minimum, the system must include: 1) a micro- blotter pump system that delivers a flow rate of from 1 to 100 microliters and a syringe volume of 2X2.5mm; the system isolates, collects and prepares samples as small as 500 fmole; 2) a Luminescence spectrophotometer with fluorescence data manager software with a PC controller (Intel 486 CPU w/min 8MB RAM, 200MB HD, 15'' SVGA Color Monitor), an HP Deskjet 660C or Equal Printer; 3) an excitation and emission polarizer and a biochemical UV-VIS system. All components to be furnished with necessary cables, connectors, etc. necessary to make the entire system usable for its intended purpose. Contractor will install the entire system to include interconnection to the specified Government-owned system in the area designated for installation. Acceptance of the delivered system for payment purposes will not occur until the post installation acceptance testing is successfully completed by the Government.
