Y -- BLDG 444 MEZZANINE OFFICE ADDITION Sol EMV-96-IB-0006, POC Stephany Bayne, 540/542-2832. The following is a modification to the scope of work for the subject solicitation previously synopsized: The proposed procurement consists of providing all the necessary materials, equipment, and labor required to furnish and install a prefabricated mezzanine type office structure and its support systems. The superstructure shall support a uniform distributed floor load of 100 PSF. The mezzanine shall be a totally factory fabricated, painted and finished system, prepared for field assembly. The mezzanine shall be a bolt together installation. All fasteners and installation drawings and instructions shall be provided by the successful contractor. The finished structure shall meet all applicable national codes. The building components shall be permanently numbered to be totally relocatable. CAD generated shop drawings and disk shall be provided by the successful contractor. Support structure shall be a bolted ``C'' section system, which shall consist of ``C'' section joist, ``C'' section girder, angle brackets, steel column tube posts, and base plate. The support structure shall be fully bolted construction. Floor structure shall consist of a cellular roof deck (USD type BC or equal) turned upside down to expose flat plate side. The cellular floor deck shall be designed based on Delta-L/360 limit. Flat plate shall be covered with a class A fire-rated commercial grade of carpet. Wall system shall be unitized panel system with concealed internal support for a suspended ceiling and a load bearing dust cover capable of supporting the suspended ceiling and ductwork. Wall construction shall provide for a high degree of sound control (STC 36 MIN). Internal wall cavity shall allow for electrical, telephone and computer cables. The mezzanine office structure shall include a ceiling system, windows, doors, door hardware, electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, fire protection system which are detailed in the solicitation, specifications and drawings. Mechanical work shall include water source heat pump unit, condenser pumps, heat exchanger to include duct work and controls. Prospective Contractors are required to possess a valid Virginia Contractor's license. This solicitation is not subject to the availability of FY96 funds.
