48 -- PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES SOL N68936-96-R-0262 DUE 080896 POC Colette Escobar, Contract Specialist Intern, (619)939-2983 and Diane Foucher, Contracting Officer, (619)939-9664. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, intends to procure pressure relief valves modified to government drawing 639AS9310 on an other than full and open competition basis from Lee Company, Westbrook, Connecticut. The pressure relief valves are installed in the Sidewinder Guidance Control System (GCS) electronics. This contract will be a one time fixed price contract award. The government intends to solicit and negotiate sole source with Lee, as the manufacturer with proprietary data, and developer with the required technical expertise. The pressure relief valves shall be tested for the following characteristics: 1)small enough to replace a 10-32 screw which allows it to be installed without taking the missile GCS apart; 2)does not open before 25 psi and is fully open by 45 psi; 3)has a permanent indicator that it has been activated; 4)reseals each time the pressure in the missile increases and decreases; and 5)interfaces with other parts of the missile. The test data and the valves shall be delivered in accordance with the delivery schedule: deliver to China Lake, California 50 units 3 months after award date; 250 units 4 months after award date; 250 units 5 months after award date; and 450 units per month for months 6 through 15 after award date. An option is included to procure an additional 5000 relief valves. Duration of contract period is 3 years. FOB Destination. Anticipated award date is 30 Sep 96.
