This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplmented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation, number NIH-NIDDK-96-13, is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The solicitation/contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAR 90-36. The High Engery 1k Hz Diode Pumped Nd:YAG Laser must include the following: (1) Power supply; (2) Optical head; (3) Electronics and closed loop cooling; (4) Single-shot to 1k 0 Hz repetition rate; (5) 1064/532/355/266 nm capability; (6) Capacity to add injection seeding for single longitudinal mode operation; (7) Digital remote control; (8) TTL or R5232 interface; (9) Quick warm-up: 1 ( minute; (10) Second, third and fourth harmonic generators (angle-turned, temperature stabilized, non-linear crystals mounted within laser). Provide existing product literature, owner's manual with maintenance procedures as part of the proposal. The Laser must have a minimum warrantly period of one (1) year parts and labor. Delivery shall be no later than Four (4) months after contract award. The existing product literature, owner's manual with maintenance procedures and test reports will be used as a basis for evaluation with submitted offers. Past Performance will also be considered. This acquisition incorporates the following FAR clauses; FAR 52.212-1, INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFERORS-COMMERCIAL ITEMS (OCTOBER 1995); FAR 52.212-3, OFFEROR REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS-COMMERCIAL ITEMS (MARCH 1996); FAR 52.212-4, CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS-COMMERCIAL ITEMS (OCTOBER 1995). The resultant contract incorporates the following FAR clauses in paragraph (b) of FAR 52.212-5; FAR 52.212-5, CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT STATUTES OR EXECUTIVE ORDERS-COMMERCIAL ITEMS (JANUARY 1996).
