70 -- SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE SOL N66604-96-Q-E804 DUE 080896 POC Contact Joseph Masterson, Contracting Officer at (401) 841- 2442 X290 FAX: (401) 841-4820 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport RI intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Contract to BBN Domain Corporation, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Cambridge MA for Annual Software Maintenance for BBN/Probe User Based Licenses residing on a VAX 8600 (20 users), a SPARC Sun (12 users) and a VAX 4000 (4 users). Period of Performance will be 01 October 96 through 30 September 97. Services will include telephone consultation/support (9AM-5PM EST), new software upgrades/versions, documentation upgrades, technical tips, maintenance and provision of appropriate improvements/enhancements and remedy of system errors in the form of patch or replacement tapes or disks (''bug'' fixes). Equipment is located at the Warfare Analysis Laboratory at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport RI. The Government plans to issue a request for a written quote to BBN Domain using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The anticipated award date of the contract is 27 August 1996. (the effective date will be 01 October 1996). This action is being processed on a sole source basis due to the fact that BBN is the sole designer and developer of the BBN/ PROBE Software and is the only source that holds proprietary rights, logic and copyrights to it. Any source that believes it has the capability to meet the Government's minimum requirements is invited to submit technical/cost literature for Government evaluation.
