The Naval Air Warfare Center, China Lake, CA is seeking sources for a laptop/notebook/rackmount computer. Evaluation of capabilities will be done by using the desired features which include: Lightweight (less than 22 lbs), is notebook or rackmount unit running Solaris 2.x on a 110 MHz MicroSPARC processor. Due to security constraints it is desired to have a 1 GB removable mass storage unit. There must be a 100 to 200 MB removable data storage device capable of withstanding greater than 500 gravity force shock (non operating). The desired display is a 12-inch flat panel, active matrix, color display (1024 x 768) with provisions for a simultaneous external monitor. The unit must provide a TCP/IP Ethernet port; a second TCP/IP Ethernet LAN connection is highly desirable. In addition, the unit must contain a Global Positioning System (GPS) system to automatically provide current position and time with provision for an external antenna connection. A keyboard with mouse or trackball or joystick is required. The unit must also contain a CD|ROM; preferably a 4X unit. Other interfaces are 2 each RS-232/RS-422 serial I/F and a parallel port and sound with a speaker and headphone jack.
