The Air Force Flight Test Center Edwards AFB California, has a requirement for the installation and procurement of mission control console stations for new mission control rooms (MCR). Console stations shall consist of three different type modules and two other kind of console systems. Console stations must interface, and match with the existing consoles currently used in the MCR. The three basic modules are: Tall, Medium and Short Modules, each consisting of two consoles. Each module shall be capable of accomodating Advance Data Acquisition Programs Systems workstations, workstation monitors, strip chart recorders, dedicated video monitors, video controllers/selectors, communications panels, and timing display units. All module components shall be built into consoles that include removable racks for workstations or strip chart recorders, removable table surfaces, document storage space, and lighting. Components shall be installed at an angle for optimal field of vision. Tall modules shall be located around the MCR periphery. Medium modules shall be rolled inside the tall modules located around the MCR. Short modules shall be located in the center of the MCR. The two other kinds of console systems are: One bay straight add-on rack, and mid center console large unit systems. Tall modules shall conform to any of the following several configurations: (1) Module A (Two strip chart recorder modules) must be capable of housing two roll-in strip chart recorder racks, strip chart pre-amps, communications panels, video monitor, video controller/selector, and timing display unit. (2) Module B (Workstation and strip chart recorder module) must be capable of housing two roll-in racks (one for workstation on the left, and the other for strip chart recorder, video monitor, communications panels, video controller, and timing display unit on the right). (3) Module C (Strip chart recorder and workstation module) shall be a mirror image of Module B. The strip chart recorder rack is on the left, and workstation rack is on the right. (4) Module D (two workstation module) must be capable of housing two roll-in workstations, communications panels, video monitors, video controller/selectors, and timing display units. Medium modules shall consist of one of either two different type racks: Strip chart recorder racks and workstation racks. These racks (medium modules) shall be able to roll in/out and attached to the tall modules. Short modules (low profile console modules) shall be capable of housing and providing spaces for a workstation with 20 inch monitor, communications panels, a video controller/selector, and a dedicated video monitor. The one-bay straight add-on rack system shall be a 19 inch rack to be capable of housing monitors, communications panels, video control panels, and timing display unit. The mid center console shall include two 19 inch rack cabinets, two 2-bay consoles, and two 1-bay consoles. A requirement exists for approximately 190 consoles over a five year period (FY 96 thru 00). The above mission control console stations shall not be ''system furniture''. These console stations shall be the custom made to meet MCR specifications. All necessary hardware shall be included. Delivery and installation will be at Edwards Air Force Base CA. FOB point will be Destination. A site visit will be held on or about 25 Jul 96. The names and phone numbers for any prons planning on attending the site visit must be provided to the contract negotiator prior to the date of the site visit. Proposals from all responsible sources will be considered. Responses must include sufficient technical and pricing data to allow evaluation.
