MTMCWA Contracts Division anticipates initiating a procurement for container freight station services. Contractor is required to furnish facilities, management, labor, supplies, equipment, and materials to handle Department of Defense sponsored cargo and service member and dependent household goods for the 1302nd Major Port Command (MPC). Contractor will be required to perform the following operations: loading and unloading import and export cargo from/into/onto railcars, trucks, and containers, to include receiving, clerking, checking, documenting, transferring, warehousing, segregating, marking, labeling, processing, clocking, bracing, lashing, and securing. Major types of cargo and workload from FY95 are as follows: Total workload export (1775) vans stuffed with 24558 shipping units): Cargo stuffed into transporters: 37602 MTs general cargo, 6082 MTs hazmat, 4195 MTs household goods (HHD) four (4) motorcycles, 97 vehicles, 812 MTs metal products. Cargo loaded onto trucks: 2446 MTs general cargo, 335 MTs hazmat. Total workload import (1448 vans stuffed with 17,397 shipping units): 71648 MTs consisting of 44330 MTs household goods (HHD), 17152 MTs general freight, and 10166 MTs breakbulk HHG. The 1302nd MPC, currently located at Oakland Army Base, CA, is anticipated to relocate to Naval Weapons Station Concord on/about Jun 97.
