Boguslawski, (907) 428-6182 Construction of a 11,208 Sqft Aircraft
Maintenance Shop Facility to consolidate the 168 CAMS shops into one
functional area. Activities operating in this facility will include:
Sheet metal shop, machine shop, corrosion control (paint booth),
welding and Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI), and all supporting areas
(Office, latrine, etc.). This project will involve reinforced concrete
foundation and floor slab, structural steel frame, steel sided masonry
walls, and IRMA roof. Interior construction includes all supporting
utilities, offices, shop areas, latrines, mechanical and electrical
systems to accommodate above listed shop activities. Exterior
construction will include tie-in to Base utility systems, and will
require utilidor construction, vehicle parking, HBO's lighting, and
landscaping. There are four ABIs: (1) Install approximately 12
additional air drops in the shop areas; (2) Install approximately
32,000 SF of ACC pavement, and 900 LF of concrete curb and gutter; (3)
Install all Casework, Metal Lockers, Benches, and Windo Treatments;
(4) Install floor coverings, approximately 2,500 SF. Magnitude of
construction is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Standard Industrial
classification code is 1541. Location of site is Eielson AFB, Alaska.
Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment,
transportation and services to successfully complete the project. DOD
Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement Clause 252.222-7000
Restriction on Employment of Personnel (Dec 1991) will be incorporated
into the solicitation and any resultant contract. The clause reads:
(a) The Contractor shall employ, for the purposes of performing that
portion of the contract work in the State of Alaska, individuals who
are residents of the State, and who, in the case of any craft or trade,
possess or would be able to acquire promptly the necessary skills to
perform the contract (b) The Contractor agrees to insert the substance
of this clause, including this paragraph (b), in each subcontract.
This procurement is an unrestricted acquisition, subject to full and
open competition. Bid packages will be available approximately August
1, 1996. Distribution will be on a first come, first serv basis until
supply is exhausted. There will be a non-refundable charge of $75.00
for each set of plans and specifications. Checks or money orders shall
