Work consists of construction of a new addition to the existing welding shop, building 9. It includes demolition of an existing metal panel and steel structure wall, construction of an exposed steel structure with exterior metal panels, concrete cassion foundation, built-up roof, renovation of an existing office with new concrete masonry wall with door, patching of ceiling and flooring, new hollow metal doors and frames and new overhead rolling service door. Site work includes relocation of storm drain inlet, concrete curb and pavement patching. Mechanical work includes exhaust fans, unit heaters, new eyewash stations, relocation of existing water service siamese connection, extension of gas piping, compressed air, and steam. Electrical work includes new lighting and power for equipment that will be installed by the government, convenience outlets and new electrical panels. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The SIC is 1541. The projected date for the availability of the solicitation is 10 July 1996.
