Z -- THOMAS PLANT DECENTRALIZATION SOL N47408-96-B-5013 DUE 081596 POC Contract Specialist, Terry Moore, 805-982-2479 This work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to convert the heating and domestic hot water systems currently being supplied steam by the Thomas Plant (Bldg. 373) to individual, satellite, gas-fired equipment. The contractor shall demolish and remove all equipment and structures related to the heating and domestic hot water systems. Equipment and structures include but are not limited to heat exchangers, storage and expansion tanks, coils, unit heaters, pumps, piping, equipment pads and associated mechanical equipment. The contractor shall refurbish and/or construct the mechanical equipment rooms for each building to accept the new gas-fired heaters, boilers, and accessory equipment. The contractor shall extend the existing base gas distribution system to supply natural gas to the new gas-fired heating equipment. Temporary heaters and/or boilers shall be provided, connected, and operated by the contractor to maintain a continuous supply of heating and domestic hot water to the buildings. Additive bid item shall include all work required to demolish buildings 373 and 227, plus landscaping. Cost range is between $l,000,000 and $5,000,000. SIC: 1711, $17.0 M.
