Solicitation scheduled to open on or about 9/1/96. All contracts
awarded under this multiple award schedule Solicitation will include an
option to extend the term of the contract along with other related
clauses that allow for extension of the contract term. The option
provisions allow for an option to be exercised at the end of the
initial basic schedule period which will extend the contract
performance period for an additional 5-year period with annual open
seasons asapplicable. Indentical product lines will be considered only
on the basic period or on the open Season Solicitation issued before
exercise of the optionperiod. When the option to extend the term of the
contract is exercised, all extended contracts will become indefinte
delivery-indefinite quantity contracts with $100 guaranteed minimum for
the option period. Various clauses includingi-FSS-599, electronic
Commerce-Federal acquisition network (facnet), which implements GSA
advantage. (GSA'S on-line shopping program) are included. Also included
are clause I-FSS-125, requirements exceeding the maximum order, and
other related clauses which implement the new maximum orderprovisions.
These new provisions allow customer agencies to seek price decreases
based on requirements that exceed the maximum order established on any
resultant contracts. To assist the customer agencies in determining
when they should seek a price decrease, a level called a maximum order
will be established on each contract. When an agency order exceeds
this amount, It It recommended the agency contact the vendor for a
reduced price. The vendors will not be obligated to accept these
orders, in accordance with FAR 52.216-19. All contracts to be awarded
include industrial funding provisions. 4/1/97, or date of award,
through 3/31/2002 (contract period). See Note 12 (trade agreements).
