COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 24,1996 PSA#1622John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F. Street, NW,
Washington, DC 20566-0001 70 -- SPAN-FM COMPUTERIZED SOFTWARE SYSTEM POC Latonca Harris,
Procurement Assistant, 202-416-7924/Valerie L. Veatch, Contracting
Officer, 202-416-7912. The Kennedy Center is implementing a complete
Computer Integrated Facilities Management system for their 1.5 million
square foot facility. The software product will handle multiple
applications (stand alone modules) including Maintenance Management
(both emergency and preventive maintenance), Asset Management, Cable
Management, Project Management (Facilities Construction Projects),
Space Planning/Management/Utilization, and bi-directional CAD
Integration to the database. The software company must develop, market,
implement and support a true Client/Server Facilities Management
System, direct to clients worldwide. The company will have a minimum of
10 years of experience with a variety of Clients and system
applications. The software product will be developed using the
Powerbuilder development tool, a true 32 bit application. A 32 bit
application will provide state of the art processing speed in the
client server environment, and will run under Windows NT, Windows 95,
Windows 3.1 and 3.11. The ``User Friendly'' software system will have
a consistency of ``Standards'' and ``Details'', making it easier to
learn the new module. The software product will provide a true
Client/Server product that is ODBC compliant (Open Database
Connectivity). The software product will provide a true Relational
Database that houses 300 different tables that all integrate within the
software product. The relational database will ensure the integrity of
facilities data by eliminating duplication of data among the various
facilities-related departments and applications. For example, the
changes on one data table, say a room number, would reflect in all of
the related tables, for examples, property records. This would allow
various departments to draw on data kept by other departments. The
software product will allow the user to enter all of the data in the
database initially and then link the CAD drawings to the database as
needed. The software program will run directly with AutoCAD 12 and
AutoCAD 13 and Microstation 5.0, allowing the true bi-directional link
between the CAD floorplan and the database so as information is
changed on the drawing, the database will reflect those changes. The
software program will provide 200+ standard reports with the system
that allows sorts and selects on the date. In addition, the software
product will incorporate Infomaker, a report writing and forms
generating tool that will allow the user to create custom reports as
well as additional screens in the system. SPAN-FM Computerized Software
System; SPAN-FM 6.0 Windows Suite (6 Models), SPAN-FM 6.0 CAD
Integrator, Infomaker - Report Writing Tool, Watcom SQL Multi-User
Database (16 User), Software installation & setup, Hand held Bar
Scanner (MARS), Bar Code Labels, Training three (3) People five (5)
days, Annual Maintenance Contract (15% of Software Cost). Complete
specifications may be obtained by sending a telefax request to the POC
stated above at 202-416-8975 (TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED). Please submit information brochure and specifications to POC
stated above. (170) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0388 19960621\70-0005.SOL)
