Develop new or adapt existing software to calculate seismic source paramaters using output from Nanometrics data files. Provide a seamless UNIX-based computer data processing system which can: (1) accommodate a large input volume of high-resolution earthquake seismic data; (2) calculate seismic source parameters in near-real time; (3) serve as an easily-accessed source of seismicity data which is tightly linked to the fundamental Geothermal Program Office (GPO) data manipulation software, ArcInfo/ArcView. Provided the contractor successfully completes work in the basic contract and a fully operational software package is accepted, the Government may exercise options for one or two additional years. Option Year 1: Integrate Cal Tech/USGS signals (format compatibility, file management, quality control of waveforms). Maintain and upgrade Xmap8, relational seismicity database, and source parameter calculation software. Option Year 2: Develop a regional 3-D velocity model which will replace the generalized model currently in use for calculation of hypocenters.
