The U. S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center is
conducting Market Research to compile a list of manufacturers who are
currently producing, and have available, antipersonnel mine protective
boots or overboots or who can produce antipersonnel mine protective
boots or overboots with a minimal development effort. The boots or
overboots requirements are as follows: Minimum blast protection against
one ounce of tetryl delivered by a pressure sensitive antipersonnel
mine; coverage - foot, however, some ankle support is desired;
overboots must be compatible with all sizes of the US Army standard
combat boot, MIL-B-44152; and maximum weight of 5.0 lbs for size 10.
(4.5 lbs desired). Interested firms must submit within thirty (30) days
following the publication of this synopsis, information on their
products. This should include as a minimum, and item description which
details the material descriptions, any ballistic certifications,
illustrations with corresponding descriptive information, previously
related experience, personnel resumes, list of facilities (and
locations), and any other specific information which the firm believes
demonstrates its ability to perform the proposed work. In addition,
include whether the firm is a small business or a small disadvantaged
