The Contractor shall provide all necessary technical assist, parts and materials to Government personnel performing recurring scheduled preventive maintenance overhaul for the Atlas Copco low pressure air compressor #1 (Atlas Copco Model ZR-7D unit). SIC Code 3563 applies. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only Atlas Copco under the authority of FAR 6.302, since they are the only firm that can provide the spare parts required for the overhaul. Firms that have the capablility to perform the above work should notify us within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
