COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 25,1996 PSA#1623``JOINT EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE (JETT-CON), JULY
9-11, 1996'' The United States Department of Labor, Employment and
Training Administration's conference, JETT-CON, is scheduled for July
9-11, 1996 in Washington, D.C. at the Hyatt Regency on Capital Hill,
400 New Jersey Avenue, N.W. The purposes of this announcement are to
invite participants to attend and invite vendors to exhibit at
JETT-CON. This is the final JETT-Con announcement. The purpose of this
conference is to educate and inform federal, state, and local
providers of employment and training services about how technology can
help them to provide better, faster and more cost effective services
to the public. Congress is changing the way the federal, state, and
local employment and training system does business. Block grants and
new legislation highlight the integration of services, requiring the
expenditure of millions of dollars on technology that will improve
efficiency in the areas of interest listed below, this conference will
provide a unique opportunity to showcase your technology. The areas of
interest include, but are not limited to: assessment, career guidance,
labor market information, education and training, self-registration,
eligibility determination, case management/client tracking, distance
learning, interactive multimedia, Internet access, and quality
management/continuous improvement. The exposition is critical and
integral component of this conference. Vendors will be able to interact
with the decision-makers at the state and local levels who are
committed to using innovative technology. They are ready to learn how
technology can enhance their employment and training programs and what
