The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, has a requirement for completed individual unit doses of the Human-Use drug called OctreoScan-Indium In-111 Pentetreotide Injection. The minimum required features of the OctreoScan kit shall consist of the following two components: (A) A 10-mL OctreoScan Reaction Vial which contains a lyophilized mixture of (i) 10 ug of pentetreotide, (ii) 2.0 mg of gentistic acid, (iii) 4.9 mg trisodium citrate, anhydrous, (iv) 0.37 mg citric acid, anhydrous, and (v) 10.0 mg inositol. Prior to lyophilization, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid may have been added for pH adjustment. B) A 10-mL vial of Indium In-111 Chloride Sterile Solution, which contains: 1.1 mL of (3.0 mCi/mL) indium In-111 Chloride Sterile Solution, which contains: 1.1 mL of (3.0 mCi/mL) indium In-111 chloride in 0.02 NHCI at the time of calibration. The vial also contains ferric chloride at a concentration of 3.5 ug/ml (ferric ion, 1.2 ug/mL). The vial contents shall be sterile and nonpyrogenic. There shall be no bacteriostatic preservative present. This human-use radioactive drug product shall only be prepared by a licensed pharmacist in pharmacy which is licensed by the Federal Government, State or District of Columbia to handle radioactive material. The unit dose shall be provided in a syringe ready for direct injection into Clinical Center patients. Any firm that believes they can provide this drug is invited to provide the Contract Specialist with descriptive literature demonstrating clear capability.
