FIRST ANNUAL JOINT SERVICE POLLUTION PREVENTION CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION, HENRY B. GONZALEZ CONVENTION CENTER, SAN ANTONIO, TX, AUGUST 19-22, 1996 The 1st Annual Joint Service Pollution Prevention Conference and Exhibition, formerly the Annual Air Force Worldwide Pollution Prevention Conference will be held at the San Antonio Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas, August 19-22, 1996. The central theme of the symposium ``Working Together For a Cleaner Tomorrow'' relates to the interaction between the Department of Defense and Industry to find and implement the most effective and cost efficient means of leveraging limited resources to achieve a mutually effective environmental leadership role in Pollution Prevention. The meeting is sponsored by the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence in cooperation with the American Defense Preparedness Association and the Society of American Military Engineers. This conference offers the opportunity for our government leaders to discuss the latest pollution prevention policy changes within the DoD and Military Departments, present past accomplishments and focus our vision on the future of issues/areas related to pollution prevention, environmental protection and readiness. Throughout the three day meeting presentations will focus on new developments, techniques and methods in all aspects of pollution prevention strategy and implementation. Senior officials from the services Engineering, Logistics and Medical departments will keynote the symposium. Additional speakers include the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Environmental Security and the Service Secretaries for Environmental, Safety and, Occupational Health. The program will also feature presentations by the Directors of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Environmental Centers. Upon conclusion of the plenary sessions and panels, the conference offers twenty five separate sessions which includes 140 technical papers covering pollution prevention initiatives; success-stories; hazardous material control and tracking; pollution prevention in acquisition; recycling; composting; training and education; pollution prevention management; and, numerous other topics. During most of the symposium, over 200 exhibits and demonstrations of environmental equipment and information will be open for review by all attendees.
