84056-5825. Item 0002 This requirement was synopsized for request for
information under F42630- 95-R-BBBBD. The contractor will perform build
to print, assembly and test to level 3 engineering data (complete parts
lists, and all PCB artwork) of min quantity of 1300 each up to 3,000
each flight worthy control boxes. Production of control boxes rates of
up to 300 per quarter. Box contains 4 circuit boards, up to 8 layers,
approximately 3'' x 7'' and interconnect with EMI connector/gaskets.
The Control Box case will be GFM. Wave soldering is desirable. ESS
testing for process control is required. Contractor will also fabricate
an aircraft interface cable with 4 connectors, approximately 18'' long
with sheet metal mounting bracket. Contractor must have proven
production capability on similar item(s) and have proven high-rel
soldering/ESS-SPC capability. Delivery: First Article 60 days ARO, kit
proof articles 30 days after first article approval, with first
production schedule 90 days after kit proof approval. To include
contract coverage for a basic and two one year options. Only qualified
sources will be considered for award of a contract for this
requirement. The government requests that all interested contractors
complete prequalification requirements in accordance with the Source
Qualification requirements attached to the RFP. The approximate
issue/response date will be 15 Jul 96. No telephone requests. Only
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid,
proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Request for copies of
solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number, including
purchasing office identification number. To expedite your request,
limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested per
letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. This proposed procurement is
under a 100 percent small business set aside, the size standard for
which is 1,000 employees. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear
concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal
development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is
not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting
officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
